I have so much to write about I can’t seem to narrow it down to one quick, down and dirty (but fun) topic.

-Telcove just hoisted up a huge new computer rack full of electronic boxes to my server room. This is to host my new fiber optics we are getting in November. Scary but fun. Because I am a layman and not a techy you have to have a lot of faith in the people you hire. Most of which you haven’t known very long so you have to go on your fact finding, personality deciphering skills. And ask yourself, “Are these people full of shit or not?” So far so good.

-Next we move the web server from it’s Florida host to our very own server room.

-Then comes the telephone install. I really like my salesman but I was quoted one price then switched to another which is throwing my budget off for this project.

-I am leaving for China this weekend with hubby Grady. I just want to see first hand what all this import business is about. How come everybody is buying cheap but me.

-And last but not least, I am breaking up with my long-term employee Joe. We have had a falling out and he has found another job. He leaves in a week. Of course we are still going to be friends. DOESN’T THIS SOUND LIKE A BOYFRIEND! Relationships are all so similar. Dependency, co-dependency, love, hate, blah, blah, blah. Joe, I know you are reading this.

Cover GirlI have made the big time! Just got a copy of Arkansas Health And Living Magazine and guess who is on the cover. Lil’ ole me. Never been on the cover before. Of course I look older than I thought I did (you know when you look in the mirror at yourself, you always pick your best angle). I guess I haven’t hit the really big time yet or they would have touched up my photo some.

Anyway I am used to being in print and I love the free press. It is very flattering to think about. After examining the photos with a microscope I read the article written by John Hofheimer , a local Little Rock writer, that Dotty at the Free Press, turned us on to.

When writer John and I met for the interview, we of course, new each other from just being around town, so we had a great visit. I like to measure a person by the drink test. Would I have a drink with this person or not. I would have a drink with John.

Thanks writer John and editor Jay Craig.

One of our media partners Citadel Broadcasting rented the Repertory Theater last night and invited all their customers to the play. And when I say all, I mean all, we were only one of many companies invited and we got to bring our families too. The play was “Of Mice and Men”. It was very good. My son, Matthew, is reading the book in school right now. They also provided a reception prior with food from Loco Luna (I kissed Mark Abernathy, the owner, while he was serving buffet) and wine from Post Familie vineyards.

Fun and fellowship was had by all.

Our account rep is so nice. You know those advertising people just work day and night. Thank you Susan Ashcraft!

It is the same old adage “You got to spend money to make money”. That is what I am always juggling. Currently I want to upgrade my phone system. And I was lucky enough to have the perfect salesman call on me, pirate Creigh Shank from Inter-tel.com (he wears an eye-patch).

If we buy a new phone system and use it to its full potential, we have to upgrade our CRM system and bring in a T1 line (or should I do fiber optics? I am in downtown Little Rock where there is fiber on just about every street corner).
Here we go! The project is growing before we even get started.
